Taking its name from a scientific paper by Nobel Laureate P. W. Anderson, More is Different is a School of Communication elective exploring systems and science through research and making.
In 2015/16 the elective focused on the communication of aspects of complex systems, for instance climate change and cities, and the concept of emergence as a design tool. In 2016/17 the elective developed work using concepts from quantum systems as metaphors for our interactions with technology.
